Leaving Perm feels a bit sad. The hospitality in our Russian families has been incredible. Together with our new friends from Perm we took off for the Rotary District Conference in Yekaterinburg east of the Ural mountains, a 6 hours drive. Yekaterinburg is a modern city, about 1½ million inhabitants and has a lot of universities.
At first we had some sightseeing in the center of the city and we visited an artmuseum with sculptures made of cast iron which is special for the area. After a lovely dinner (a southrussian restaurant) with our new hostfamilies, we went on another excursion and among many things we visited the church built where the tsar family was killed. I spent the night talking with my hosts and I got to bed far too late – again…
Best Regards,
Charlotte
